Maria joined Blankinship & Foster in 2014. She brings a broad skill set to our firm, excelling at portfolio management, investment analysis and data analytics.
Maria’s primary responsibilities include portfolio rebalancing, trading, and performing due diligence on the firm’s investments. She is a member of the Investment Committee, which meets regularly to review investments and evaluate current market conditions. Maria also maintains and manages the firm’s investment software systems for trading and portfolio management.
Prior to joining Blankinship & Foster, Maria worked as a teacher’s assistant and tutored math. She loves math and when she has free time, she enjoys doing some volunteer math tutoring.
Maria earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. She was born and raised in San Diego and has loved every minute of it. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
What quality of yours makes you best suited for what you do?
I am very analytical and detail-oriented, which helps me perform the functions of my job well.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them.
My husband and I rescued our dog, Woody, when he was a puppy. He has a lot of energy and quite the personality. He likes tug-o-war and soccer.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am proud that I successfully passed all three levels of the CFA exams.
